Girls Varsity Softball · Bedford Bearcats Varsity Drops Game to Cleveland Heights After Late Score

Bedford Bearcats Varsity stayed in it until the end, but Cleveland Heights pulled away late in a 14-11 victory on Monday. The game was tied at ten with Cleveland Heights batting in the top of the sixth when they doubled,  scoring one run.

Shaniah Jackson collected four hits in defeat. Jackson singled in the first, doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

Bedford Bearcats Varsity took an early lead in the second inning. Olivia Pliske drove in two when she homered.

In the top of the fifth inning, Cleveland Heights tied things up at ten. Cleveland Heights scored two runs.

Bedford Bearcats Varsity notched five runs in the fourth inning. Bedford Bearcats Varsity put the pressure on, lead by a single by Jackson, by Bria Leverett, and a double by Kendra Clark.

Dowell was credited with the victory for Cleveland Heights. She allowed 16 hits and 11 runs over seven innings, striking out ten.

Pliske took the loss for Bedford Bearcats Varsity. She went seven innings, allowing 14 runs on nine hits and striking out 13.
